The Neptunus 650 Flybridge mixes old-school craftsmanship with modern materials to create a rugged yacht that carries a CE rating of A-Ocean. That means she’s built to withstand winds of more than Beaufort Force 8 (stronger than 40 knots) and wave heights of more than 13’ (3.96 m).
Because she’s laid up with Kevlar on the bottom running surface and the hullsides, she has prodigious strength, rigidity and puncture resistance. As we all know, Kevlar is bulletproof. Kevlar is also much lighter than glass fiber, so there is an important weight-saving component by using it. The carbon-fiber hardtop helps keep weight down and keep the center of gravity low. More...
Sometimes, details that focus on a member of the family can make the difference that prompts a purchase. On the Barletta Lusso 25 UCA pontoon boat, those features just might be the slide-out doggie dish in the base of the helm console and the doggie gates at the bow and to port side. To see the features that humans will like, check out our video from the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show. More...

Dometic Trim Tabs
Finally: Intuitive Trim Tab Control
Dometic Marine has introduced a new control system for its electrically powered trim tabs that makes operating them more intuitive. Instead of buttons that an inexperienced operator presses to raise or lower the tabs and then gets frustrated when the boat doesn’t respond as expected, the SeaStar tabs have a rotary-style control. A user simply twists the knob in a given direction to level the boat. After you see this video, you’ll wonder why it took so long to be invented. More...
In 2013 Bayliner got everyone’s attention when it introduced the 25’6” (7.77 m) Element XR7, seen above. It was a brilliant mashup of several boat types — a fiberglass deck boat, a pontoon boat for room and comfort and a nearly flat-bottom skiff for speed and fuel economy. She checks many boxes for people who want an entertaining and watersports platform on small lakes and in smooth waters. Go to Bayliner’s website to learn more...

Oddly enough, many boats are designed for just being on the water, but not for their occupants being in the water. That’s a shame because one of the most enjoyable aspects of boating is taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters of Florida's West Coast. All boats in the Sovereign Boat Club fleet have ready access to the water. Shouldn’t you put a toe in the water with an SBC membership before taking the plunge to buy one? Check us out at SovereignBoatClub.com.
