The Cruisers Yachts 34 GLS is a 35’10” (10.92 m) long day boat that has sleeping space for three belowdecks. She can be powered by twin stern drives and our test boat had a pair of 300-hp Mercury Verados bolted to the transom. At 6000 rpm, we hit a top speed of 45.2 mph. Best cruise came at 4500 rpm and 31.2 mph where she had a range of 233 statute miles. Capt. Steve said the 34 GLS is an easy boat to drive, especially with Mercury’s auto trim taking care of the boat’s attitude. The 300s are the base engines and an owner can choose up to 900 total hp for outboards and up to 860 hp total for twin sterndrives. More...
Beneteau’s Gran Turismo 45 is a 48’6” (14.78 m) express yacht that can entertain at the docks or take some friends for a weekend getaway. Our test boat was powered by twin 440-hp Volvo Penta IPS 600 pods that pushed her to 37 mph at 3640 rpm. We recorded best cruise at 3200 rpm where she ran 29.8 mph and had a range of 189 statute miles. We tested in 10- to 15-mph winds and 2’ (0.6 m) of chop and the GT45 acquitted herself well regardless of the wave direction. More...

You might be surprised to find out that you too can own a new luxury cruising yacht, like this Absolute 60 Flybridge, for only a small percentage of its total cost thanks to our fractional ownership program.
Now you can enjoy the opulence and luxury found on this incredible Absolute 60 PRISMA through this convenient fractional ownership program, for immediate purchase. The itinerary includes a Mediterranean delivery, Winter / Spring in Bahamas and Newport Beach, California home port.
All it takes is a quick cruise around the ICW or a visit to your local marina to see a lot of boats tied up and growing “beards” sitting at the dock. Realistically, most boat owners only use their yacht a small percentage of the time it’s available. This is where SeaNet’s Fractional Ownership Program shines! Sell that unused time on your yacht to other boaters through a professionally managed program and offset a large portion of its cost. Or start living that yachting lifestyle for a fraction of the cost by purchasing into the program.
Getting boat envy seeing the larger models out cruising and wish you had the space? This is your chance to move into a larger yacht at a fraction of the cost. SeaNet will be at the Miami Boat Show in the Absolute Yachts exhibit, one of the leading luxury yacht builders out of Italy. You’re invited to see these award-winning models and talk to the SeaNet team about this industry-leading program.
Be sure to tell them Capt. Steve at BoatTEST sent you. You’ll thank us later. More...

Sovereign Boat Club is entering its third year in business and is now expanding to Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Key Largo, Boca Raton and Palm Beach. This is a ground-floor opportunity because we will only have a few boats in Southeast Florida. If you have a late model or new boat from 27’ to 40’ (8.2 m to 12.1 m) and would like to enter it into a “Shared Access” program that can pay for your annual operating expenses and mitigate its depreciation, we need to talk. Be sure to see us at the BoatTEST booth at the Herald Plaza venue at the Miami Boat Show or contact us here or at 727-200-3474. Just say uncle sent you.

The Lazzarini Design Studio in Rome has unveiled a concept yacht that’s inspired by Ferrari and pays tribute to the legendary Italian sportscar manufacturer, the 90’ (27 m) Gran Turismo Mediterranea (GTM). She has a stern garage designed to carry, of course, a Ferrari. She’s to be powered by MAN V12 engines coupled to Arneson surface drives outboard of a centrally-positioned Hamilton jet. The studio estimates her top speed would be just over 80 mph or 70 knots. More...

Boneheaded Boaters of the Week
The Many Sides of Towing
This week, the Broncos Guru looks at Good Samaritans helping their fellow boaters, group efforts at the dock, surprising things that get caught in propellers and a bear snacking on some salmon in the back of a pickup while a boat is winched onto the trailer. That boat’s name? Big Bear, of course. To see the rest of this week’s hijinks, click for more…
