The 45 Divergence is a super-lux dayboat for watersports and entertaining. She has bulwarks port and starboard that fold down to make the boat an exciting diving platform or a memorable venue for evening cocktails. But she has much more utility than most lux-dayboats we’ve seen, which are often one-trick ponies. The coupe provides shelter when it’s raining or a chill is in the air and below she has full accommodations for two couples. The galley is down. She is at once a dayboat because of her large open cockpit, but also an express cruiser. More...
Our CLB88 test boat weighed in at 175,000 lbs. (79,379 kg) fully loaded, which is less than the empty weight of other boats in class. Powered by twin 1,600-hp CAT C32 Acerts, she hit a top speed of 24 knots at 2350 rpm. At Caterpillar’s recommended 80% load, the engines turned 2200 rpm and the boat ran 22.3 knots with a range of 431.7 nautical miles. Drop down to 1000 rpm and she’ll run 9.8 knots and cover 1,461.7 nautical miles. More...
