NEW TEST & FEATURES VIDEO. With an exceptionally high freeboard and lots of flair plus a 21.5-degree transom deadrise, the SeaWell 290CC is intended for bluewater fishing. She’s more affordable than some in class and is built by a Brazilian company with over 15 years in the business.
PERFORMANCE VIDEO. Twin 600-hp Mercury Verados make the 380 SSC very fast and great looking — and if you want a different color scheme, all you have to do is ask. She accommodates four and has standard AC in the cabins and at the helm. Formula boats are not for everyone and that's part of their appeal.
WALKTHROUGH. The 435 is rugged, robust and comfortable, with exterior lines of a working tug and the finely-finished interior of a high-end trawler or LRC. Power is a single Cummins 550 diesel fed by a 640 gal. (2,423 l) fuel tank, promising plenty of displacement speed range. She has two cabins and two heads below.
PRE-OWNED YACHT. This Numarine 85 has had U.S. duty paid and is virtually new. She’s powered by two 1,800-hp MAN diesels with less than 190 hours on them. She accommodates eight guests and three crew in two ensuites. Cruise speed is 23 knots and range is over 1,200 NM, according to the builder.
BOATING GEAR. Whether your boat is small and slow or large and fast — or vice versa — an autopilot can make operating her easier, more efficient and more relaxing. Also, on long runs, you can probably save fuel with one. But remember — they're blind as a bat!
CRUISING. While the first cold snaps spur some boaters to put their boats on the hard, fall weather and fall colors offer a whole new world to those who wait until after Halloween to haul out. In most cases you can have the marina all to yourself.
SUPERYACHTS. The Ocean Alexander 37M (117.8’) has a main deck master with a penthouse view among other special features designed by Evan K. Marshall. The $22 million superyacht has a four-deck elevator and is engineered to operate all house loads in near total silence at anchor, per the company.
