As you read eariler this month, a Silent Yachts 62 is making her way from Gibraltar to Antigua via the Canaries, a distance of over 3,000 nautical miles. This is a historic voyage because the 62 will make the entire passage with 100% renewable energy.

 

If you’ve ever wanted to know what it’s like swimming in the middle of the Atlantic in early December, then this video is made for you. On December 8, the Silent Yachts 62 had her twin electric motors turned off, and the ship's captain, Capt. Jason Bell and a crew member took the plunge.
