NEW VIDEO FROM CANNES. The new Axopar 29 CCX, which will make her U.S. debut at the Ft. Lauderdale show, is built with seven interchangeable modules that allow an owner to configure the boat to a specific application. We don't know of any boat model that has ever offered such dynamic range of structural options in class. Axopar Founding Partner, Jan-Erik Viitala, gives our Capt. Boomies a thorough explanation of how this totally new design once again pioneers boat innovation.

TEST & FEATURES VIDEO. The upscale 280 SLX comes standard with twin 250-hp Mercury Verado outboards producing speeds over 56 mph in Capt. Shelly’s tests. She has standard dual 9″ Simrad® touchscreen displays and extra-wide helm seat swivels so the captain can join the party dockside. Check out the company’s fall savings events!
PRE-OWNED. This like-new T9 is powered by twin 225-hp Mercurys with just 50 hours on them and rides on Nimbus’ well-respected double-stepped hull. She includes two Simrad 12” displays, bow thruster, power windlass, Simrad radar, sunshade extensions forward and aft, a cabin for weekending below plus lots more.
SHARROW PROPELLERS. At around 36 mph — a typical speed offshore in rough conditions with the SeaVee — the Sharrow propellers delivered a range of about 431 miles, some 27% better than the conventional propellers. They were also dramatically better at trolling speeds, important in a fishing boat.
CRUISING. A gimpy wood boat more than 70 years old, a 1,680 NM delivery from Menorca to Brighton, England, a leaky hull, a volunteer crew — what could go wrong? Pretty much everything, it turns out, including a fire in the engine room.
CRUISING. Pristine coral reefs, excellent diving, superb fishing, and white sand beaches await cruisers, but caution is advised as over a thousand ships have reportedly wrecked here.
Cruising with Grandpa on Mill Creek that leads to the Patuxent River in Maryland.
