33 FEET WIDE The GranOcean W72 packs in more square footage than most 150-foot monohull megayachts, according to our test captain, thanks to her nearly 33-foot beam carried fully forward. She's semi-custom, built to CE Class A standards, and laid up in vinylester resin composite. Twin 1,150-hp CAT diesels top her out at 26 knots.

MEGAYACHT ROOTS The Nimbus T8 started as a megayacht tender before the builder added family-friendly touches that turned her into a proper dayboat. The aft sofa flips from bench to chaise to full sunbed, and below deck a two-person berth turns an afternoon out into an overnight stay. Nimbus reports 46 knots with a 300-hp outboard.
